Owosso, MI April ,2018

Wow this week has been all sorts of crazy! We got a voicemail from one of our investigators telling us to never come back to their house because she now doesn't agree with anything that we have been telling her. So sad. We dropped our other investigator Jessie because she just wasn't progressing at all and she just believes in all religions all together. So, we both felt like we should drop her. Maybe in the future she will be able to meet with missionaries again. We had a lot of fun this week getting ready for Jaleighs baptism for today. We bought fabric and made a tie blanket for her, a journal, and gave her some sour patch kids. She loved it! 

Supposedly its also Spring in Michigan??? I don't think Michigan got that information yet. We woke up on Wednesday with snow!! It melted and then all came back on Friday. It was insane. We couldn't believe how crazy Michigan is. It's worse where there are lakes though...

Yesterday was transfer calls. It was surprising to know that I will be getting transferred to Bay City, MI! I will be down by a lake! I have heard that it is beautiful there and that all Sisters want to serve in Bay City. Sister Grant is staying in Owosso and training a new missionary! So exciting!!  My new companion is Sister Olsen! She just finished getting trained so I will be her second companion on the mission

Jae's baptism went great! I spoke on Baptism and used Brek's analogy of the pennies. (You hold up a penny that is really dirty and explain that this is what we all look like. Hold up a brand new, shiny penny and explain that this is what we look like after we are baptized. But... during the week we start to look more like the dirty penny. In order to be like the clean penny again, we have to go to church and partake of the sacrament) Sister Grant wrapped the white blanket that we had made for Jae around her and described the blanket AND the roles of the Holy Ghost. It was really good. Then Jae got baptized!! When she came up out of the water she went,"OH!". It was so cute. After she got baptized, she and two of her cousins got up and sang 'I am a Child of God'. It was the cutest thing! While we were getting refreshments, I told Jae that I was getting transferred. She was so sad! Her cousin Hope was mad that I had to leave. I didn't even think Hope liked me that much! But yeah, all in all this was a good transfer with Sister Grant. I have loved serving with her and I know that she will continue to do great things here in Owosso.

NOTE FROM THE MOMMA:  It's terrible when your missionary forgets to bring her camera so she can't upload her pictures that she took of her new area and apartment...How is a momma's heart supposed to be satisfied with NO DETAILS!! Her and I actually got food poisoning yesterday though so that wasn't very fun. But hey, we're better now! We have an investigator on date for  February 10. Her name is Jolee.  We picked up a new investigator the day that I got to Owosso which was awesome! We have been doing lots of door knocking, which is fine with me. I have definitely gotten out of my comfort zone a lot and been able to talk to people about the gospel nonstop on doorsteps or while we are walking on the sidewalk and they are also walking on the sidewalk. Bay City, MI May 28.2018 (Angel sister, Shawnee's birthday)

Hello!! Happy Memorial Day!! Wow this past week has been crazy!! So much has happened it's insane! The weather is SOOOO hot right now. It's insane! Marnie did get baptized  on Saturday ! We are so happy for her! Before she got immersed though, her boyfriend Joe and her were in the font and while he was saying the baptismal prayer, she started to cry! It was such a sweet and tender moment. There is a huge change in her since we first met with her up until the day she got baptized and the day after that when she got the gift of the Holy Ghost. Being able to see the change that the gospel brings to someone's life first hand is incredible! I can't even describe the way it feels. We actually had a lesson this morning as well which was pretty cool. His name is Brian. We were able to put him on date for  June 30 . The last Saturday of the month. He is learning everything so quickly it's insane! He's such a great guy. Shawnda is supposed to be getting baptized  this...

Let me tell you about our day.... Summer has been packing all day.  We got everything packed and the luggage weighed 6 pounds over between the two pieces.  We took things out like the winter coat and 3 t-shirts, 5-10 pairs of socks and 3 undershirts.  The luggage still weighs 6 pounds over.  But in the process of taking things out we found this shirt... You know we should take a beer advertisement shirt on our mission because "we have no clue that lucky is a beer". (The back story to owning this shirt.  I think it was Lex 8th grade and she wanted to where something green for St. Patty's day.  I found this shirt cheap at Walmart.  She went off to school with the green shirt.  About 10 o'clock, I get a phone call from the principal and I'm asked if I know Lex is wearing a beer shirt.  MMMMM.....no.  After getting his laughter under control, the principal told me that Lucky is a beer and he thought that I probably didn't know it was a ...
